Dr Martineau’s academic career has been characterized by excellence, innovation, and industrious output. After completing his medical studies and residency training at McGill, he completed premier clinical fellowships in Sports Medicine (Cleveland Clinic) and Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery (University of Washington) before returning to Montreal in 2007. He is presently an Associate Professor in the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery McGill University where he serves as the Director of Orthopaedic Sport Medicine Research and as Head of Upper Extremity Surgery.
Clinical care and surgical expertise in arthroscopic surgery have been a forte of Dr Martineau. His reputation in the care of complex multi-ligament injuries of the knee has been recognized internationally. He has translated his research on anatomy of the anterior cruciate ligament to novel minimally invasive and more successful surgical techniques for knee injuries. His expertise as a sports surgeon has been sought by patients of all ages and levels of competition. He has is an orthopaedic surgeon for McGill University Athletics and the Montreal Alouettes and was previously orthopaedic surgeon for the Montreal Canadiens.
